I came across a free softproofing manual by Fogra (european graphic technology research association) - it may be an interesting supplement for those who liked excellent digitaldog's softproofing e-seminar. Unfortunately - it's only available in German:

(Translation : Germans like to remember the world they've got almost as many writers and philosophs as France, just as Frenchmen like to remember the world that Gutenberg needed to move to Strasbourg to invent printing  , but thanks a lot anyway and sorry for the private joke  ).
