It's snowed in this time of year. Here's a sample shot (not mine)... note that it was a 30 mile snowshoe hike over 5 days to get this shot.

Hmmmm. Well, I'm not afraid of a bit of hiking. This is what the webpage says:
"North Entrance Road and Rim Drive are now CLOSED for the season. Highway 62 through the park and the road to park headquarters and Rim Village remain OPEN. However, snowy and icy road conditions can occur at this time of year, resulting in temporary road closures. Please call ahead for the most current weather and road information."
I've got tire chains and arctic snow boots, so I'm not too freaked about this. I'm also thinking about renting a 4x4 for the weekend. Would shooting in and around "Rim Village" be at all satisfying? If not, how far are we talking to get to a good area?
Sorry to be so vague, but I'm not at all familiar with the area.
