The D70 is a nice camera. I have one also. I've done prints up to 16x20 with it, but the 11x14s seem to look better. 11x14 are no problem, and I'd say 16x20s are doable. With good technique and some up rezing 20x30 is possible. You may get different milage.
Actually, in this case my mileage is pretty much identical!
Would you say that you get better print vith D70 then you ever did with Film?
How big are your print?
At 12"x18", which is the biggest I typically print, I'd say that film and the D70 give about equal print quality. It's tough to do a completely quantitative comparison, though, since their problems are different. The scanned film has better resolution (just plain more pixels), but also more grain (which you don't get with digital). For me, the grain starts to become a factor a little before the resolution does. For smaller print sizes, the D70 wins because of the lack of grain.
Another factor is that I find that, with the D70's in-camera histogram, I'm starting with much better exposures than I typically got with film, which substantially improves the image quality.
The biggest deal about the new D70s that I've heard about is the improved battery life. Lisa - Do you know if the new batteries will fit our cameras?
Sorry, no clue. But I have yet to run my battery down any noticeable amount even with a couple of days of shooting (at my rate, anyway).
