Tethered shooting with a D700: special USB cable or not?
« on: January 27, 2009, 03:21:53 pm »

Hi,

I want to shoot tethered with my D700 into C1pro on a MBP.

Can I use any cheap cable or will I have to use something "special", "high quality" "to specification" ?

Thank & best wishes,

Bernd

BTW: nice camera !

We use the Tripp Light USB extension cables. They are very dependable.

I would stay away from the cheapos because you will inevitably end up with connectivity issues.
I also found a really nice left angle cable that reduces the stress on the camera socket. It seems to fit a bit more secure as opposed to hanging out the side like the one that Nikon includes with the camera.
