For me it was a real improvement. Had several program crashes using 2.2 when doing local adjustments and then going on to edit in PS. That's all gone now.

Yes, It's a big improvement. I have finished "developing" 250 image without a single crash.

I must admit I found 2.2 rather disappointing with it's memory leaks.

I've had upgrading catalogue problems with 2.2 [on the Mac]. I wonder if 2.3 will help.
I wonder if software will ever be released that simply works with no bugs?

Not a chance!

Proposition 1: all non-trivial programs have bugs.
Proposition 2: it is a sufficient criterion of program triviality that it have no bugs.

LR 2.2 consistently hung and crashed on three machines when using the brush (local adjustment).  RC 2.3 seems to perform better and we haven't seen a hang or a crash yet (fingers still crossed).

Looks like Adobe may be close to making V2 work.

I soooooooooo hope your right.

I really like lightroom but v2.2 has been THE most unstable bit of software I've used in a long time.

I installed 2. awhile back and was thinking it was time for a new Mac. It ran so badly that I really couldn't do corrections without a huge delay for each click. 2.3 seems to have fixed that (so far). Mac G5 dual 2.7, OS 10.4, 6 gigs ram.

MUCH BETTER!

On my old dual G5, with LR 2.2, Lightroom would crash a lot on files with local adjustments. The spinining cursor would spin for a long time then Lightroom crashed. Now, with Lightroom 2.3rc, those crashes are gone.

So Canon corrects their print drivers so that double profiling does not happen with LR2.2 and PSCS4 on Leopard, after all the fault was placed on the printer manufacture/drivers by Adobe and Apple.

So what happens LR2.3RC is released and causes the printer drivers to again default to double profiling. Forcing ColorSync again instead of No Correction.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG HERE?

Is this a f---ing game or what?

Are the Adobe programmers just that printer/CM challenged?

If you can't get any of this right, why not just do like ID and IL and lets us make our own choices in the printer driver. We don't need printing from PS and LR "IDIOT PROOFED" when choosing Application Manages Color.

You have really shown with the release of LR2.3RC who the real idiots are when it comes to printing with Application Manages Color.

WinXP here, no change from 2.2 but I had no issues with 2.2 either.  I just finished a 1500 pic edit from todays shoot, same speed, no problems.

I run Vista 64 bit with 8G of ram....  I was nervous about this S/W when I bought my machine but it IS so reliable, better than any Mac system I've had or any PC stuff, even better than windows 2000.

Anyway, version 2.2 was solid for me and therefore a dream to use, it made me more money.

I often use a Mamiya ZD back and 2.2 opened the files with a green/yellow cast, not a problem but you don't need extra items in your workflow.

bottom line Lightroom 2.3 solved this and the colours are spot on...

Thanks Adobe for listening...again

LR 2.2 has been very stable and problem-free on my Vista64 system with only 4 gigs. Therefore, I think I will wait for the official release before updating.

I had the same "cannot switch. . ." problem outlined in the other thread in this section--now, I have upgraded the relevant catalog and it works.

LR2.3 has introduced some new BS catalogue management, whereby only edited photos show up in my gallery browser after I export a photo, and this happens every time I export a photo (i.e. every day), and requires fiddling to get all the other photos back and properly sorted by star rating. I can't even imagine how they managed to get this behavior, which I cannot correct, but it is really annoying.

Are you sure that's a result of 2.3?  There were no catalog changes in 2.3.  Explain a little further?
