Phase Back on H1?
« on: January 17, 2009, 05:37:26 am »

Hi,
I am about to buy a P30 or P30+. Will I be able to fit it on a Hasselbald H1, since Hasselblad does no longer upgrade H1 to H2.
Will the Phase Back work? Or is there anything I should be worried about?

Thanx
Thomas

Hasselblad Customer Care program covers all current Hasselblad H1 and H2 owners. Includes H1 to H2 upgrade see here http://www.hasselblad.com/hcare

The Phase back will work on either H camera platform. I'd prefer the H2 for some of the updates such as The mirror delay custom option, ISO, white balance, as well as color temperature and color tint are now stored in the camera profile, histogram display etc.

More info on H2 firmware upgrade v9.4.1 here http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....showtopic=29694

I am using the P45+ with an H1 and I like it very much. At some point I do want to upgrade the firmware to get the mirror delay feature. I think it would help shooting handheld with available light.  I love the lenses. The 50-110 Zoom is really nice and is one reason I went with it. The 100 f2.2 is really nice with a fast f stop.
The only things is Hasselblad has locked us out of using the 28mm lens. But the 35mm is pretty wide.
I am trying to get used to the new Phase One C1 Pro software, they do have lens profiles for the H series lenses.
None of the new Hasselblad Camera Bodies being made will support Phase One backs, but they will fix them and they are easy to get used.
I am using the newer/better 7.2 volt rechargeable batteries with the H1 body too.

We have several clients currently with Phase One digital backs on Hasselblad H1 and H2 bodies and they are very happy with their systems.  Two reasons choose the H system is the fast focusing system and the high flash sync speed.

If there are any questions about the Phase / Hasselblad combination I can answer, please let me know and I will gladly help you.
