(This is a repost of a prior thread, with a more clear subject line.)

My good friend and shooting buddy is selling his Rollei 6008i kit, which has been gathering dust in his closet. The stuff is in pristine condition and costs a fortune if purchased new. He's a large format film shooter who primarily does fine art landscapes, so this gear doesn't really fit in his style/working routine and consequently hasn't seen much use. I know a film body is not particularly desirable anymore (except perhaps as a backup) but the lenses are all ideal for use with a MFDB on a Rollei or Hy6 body. He has the following...

Rollei Schenider 40mm f/3.5 Super Angulon PQ - $1950

Rollei Schneider APO Makro Symmar 90mm f/4 HFT Makro - $1500

Rollei Schneider Tele-Xenar 180mm f/2.8 HFT (MF version) - $1250

Rollei 6008i body, with 45 degree finder, film back, Rollei RC120 Cable Release, Charger N, Car Adaptor for the Charger, 3 NiCad Batteries - $800

I believe that both the 40mm and 90mm are current version lenses, since they aren't sold in AF versions. I've just thrown some ballpark prices on there on his behalf, and I'm sure he'd be willing to entertain offers. You can contact him through his website (www.srosenberg.com) or drop me a PM if you have any questions.

Hi Sheldon, I am a little unfamiliar with the rollei's in general.  Is this the 'newer' rollei that is easily upgradable to digital backs like the 6008af.  Thanks,
Nate

I believe that the 6008i can be used with a digital back, such as certain Sinar backs. I think it might also take backs from other manufacturers with the proper adapter. I don't know if the 6008i mount is any different than the 6008AF, I think it might be the same.

You might ask Graham (foto-z) on the forum here, I think he's used both the 6008i and 6008AF with a digital back.

As far as I understand the 6008 series requires an adaptor plate that can be purchased from dealers to take certain sinar backs. There are only one or two other backs it can take and without my note book at hand I cannot tell you what they are.

The prices quoted appear very reasonable too. Last summer some of the items were going for 50% more and I've seen 45 prisms go for a fair amount on their own too.

The rollei is a wonderful camera and I love using mine, although not in the cold. All I have to do is learn how to use my scanner properly now!!!
foto-z is a great help and uses a 6008AF and Sinar back. I seem to recall that you do not get any exif data recorded.

You can use Sinar, Hasselblad/Imacon (Ixpress, CF), and phase backs on the Rollei 6008 integral and integral 2, and 6008 AF.   The phase backs require a resister added to all but the newest 6008 AF bodies. This is to keep the back awake.   I don't know if the phase backs will work with the integral 1, but I understand the i2 can be modified.  But there are a fair number of options for digital backs.  Phase is just more expensive since they charge a big fee for the mount change and only seem interested in doing it with a new back.

The prices on the lenses seem great -  good luck with your sale.

Still available, last time I talked to Scott. A couple inquiries but nothing finalized yet. He has photos available on request.

See this thread for comments on just how good the Schneider Rollei optics are, esp. the 90mm Macro.

Sheldon,  I talked to the owner about buying the 6008i with prism, three batteries and charger for the $800 but I think we miscommunicated.  Would please clarify that that was the offer?  Let us know and I'll contact you to move forward.

Thanks, Kirk
