PhaseOne P45 batteries
« on: January 12, 2009, 01:13:56 pm »

Hello
I came across an article by Alain Briot
Quote
The P45 uses Canon BP 911/914/915 type batteries which are similar to those used in the Canon GL2 and other digital video cameras.  However, most of these batteries are 1500 mh while the battery supplied with the P45 is 2500mh. You do want the higher mh batteries.  2100mh are possible to find on the web, but to get the full 2500mh variety you may have to order batteries directly from Phase One.

Do you think this model is correct  (2200 mAh) ?

Do you know another  or better model  ? any link ?

thank you

Lenmar makes some good inexpensive 2000 mh batteries make sure they are 7.2 volts.
However, I finally broke down and purchased two new Phase One Batteries. they do seem to last a lot longer, especially with the P-45
All things considered they are not that expensive.

Calumet rates this battery at 2600 mAh, and it's cheaper than the Canon branded 1500mAh they also sell.

[i have 2 phase one batts and a canon bp911/15 its cheaper but lasts less, exactly the same per $/time. (the canon was 40% cheaper but lasted 40% less) just go for the phase bats, buy a few perhaps a dealer will give you a discount. i looked too for cheaper batts, but didnt want to risk it.

now if you can find a AC adapter for a back (for a camcorder) that will work, that would be cool!

The Original canon batteries should last shorter as they are a lower overall milliamp rating.  2200.  The Phase One's are 2500.

Phase One told me directly to use the Canon 914 915 in a pinch, if couldn't get a Phase One cell.

The Calumet battery should by rating last as long or longer since it is 100millamps rated higher.

Just make sure you don't get the batteries that increase the millamps by doubling the physical size, as they won't fit in the
Phase One opening since it has a slight shelf that will hit the physical battery.
