Epson LFP Remote Panel
« on: January 10, 2009, 07:04:22 pm »

I searched here and elsewhere but I haven't found an answer so I'll pose the question.

I'm having a problem getting the Epson LFP Remote Panel to work again with my 4800.  Prints fine with the current Epson driver and the regular printer utility funtions like clean nozzles can be accessed through the Printer Utility program, but the Remote Panel just doesn't recognize that the 4800 is there.  Use to work fine, so I'm guessing that when I updated something I possibly 'broke' something else.  I've tried trashing prefs, removing and reloading, etc.  Already have the 2200 drivers on there and loaded the 7800 drivers also (and would have cut the head off a chicken at the full moon if I thought it would have helped).

Using a Mac G5 dual2.7 running OSX 10.4.11. Printer connected directly to the back of the computer via USB 2.0 and set for interface as USB rather than auto.

I can access the functions on the printer control panel but it would be nice to have the Remote Panel  functioning again.

Suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Try feed it a sheet of paper. Silly, yes, but I seem to remember that it had to be in a very "Ready" mode.. Had that problem too, and it was something stupid like this that fixed it.

Thanks, I'll try that.
