Up for sale is my beloved 85mm f/1.2 L series lens. This is the original version of the lens, and the sale includes the lens, both original Canon lenscaps, lens hood, hard leather case, and original box.
The lens is in good condition, relatively clean exterior with little signs of use. The autofocus is accurate on my 5D, and the lens is very sharp, even wide open. The front element has had a UV filter on it the entire time I've owned the lens, and the front glass is in excellent condition. The rear element has a couple light coating marks on it, and there is some internal dust. None of this ever produced any noticeable effects on any of my photos.
I am selling this lens because I recently acquired the 85L II (solely for the increased autofocus speed). I've shot a bunch of comparison photos between this lens and my new 85L II, and I can't see any difference in any of the photos. The original 85L actually seemed a touch sharper when doing the "newspaper on a wall" test.
Anyhow, the lens makes beautiful photos and the new 85L II is not as much of an upgrade as I thought it would be. In retrospect I might have been better served by buying a 85mm f/1.8 for fast autofocus and keeping this lens, it would have been cheaper. Too late now, since I've already spent the money and I can't afford to keep both!
