Sorta 'reading between the lines'  I suspect there is trouble in river city.  RG seems to be saying of late the site is not paying for itself and just the tone of his recent request for donations, and now this complaint about unruly posters, makes me wonder if he might be about to hang it up.

Shut down for the next two days with a complaint about problem posts and posters.   You can read a statement by clicking into the site.

I cruise thru there every couple hours.  I didn't notice any real BS going on.  Just the usual patter.

My guess is that RG wanted to give his moderators a few days off...  or he had catastrophic server failure and didn't want anybody to panic.

The moderation over there has always been on the draconian side, but this seems a bit extreme to me. From a financial perspective, this would seem to be a bad move, because the ads in the forum threads aren't going to get any exposure. That's either costing Rob money or seriously pissing off his advertisers, or both. If it's forum postings that are the problem and the moderators want time off, it would make more sense to make the forums read-only for a few days so that people can at least read stuff and give the advertisers some eyeballs.
