December gloom

It looks like a partly cloudy sky here, but this is facing East, and everything from overhead back toward the West (and the sun) is overcast, and moving Eastward.  I got this just in time for the break in the blue sky to effect a bluish cast on the water, and to some extent on the surrounding terrain.

Hi Dale,

It needs not be so gloomy.  A little saturation increase and contrast reduction brings out colors in the landscape,  details in the clouds and gives the image a painterly feel :-)

Now I remember what it was - that gloom was hiding some of the resolution problems I had with this. Well, this edit looks good from a distance, but I wouldn't get too close.

I did notice extreme pixelization in the sky when I worked on the image.

Some of that was easy to correct for me, after your edit.  But I still haven't managed to master the levels/curves techniques to bring out the colors the way you did.  I know I can get close with a lot of effort, but I'm working on a way to make it simpler.
