In the photo Jared chose, she comes across as someone who is smart and approachable. In the select, she comes across as a pissed off IRS agent.

One thing I notice is the hair. Most women think that when their hair is down, over their shoulders they are spineless and not professional. When it's pushed back as in the select, that perception is "altered", to say the least. What I've done in the past is to get the hair on the side away from the camera to fall over the shoulder. Then the face to "opens up" towards the camera.
