updated firmware available for eMotion & Hy6
« on: December 24, 2008, 11:05:30 am »

For my colleagues out there who own or use eMotion or Hy6,
I've been told there's new firmware available for download at www.sinarcameras.com

You're welcome, Bradley.

Hopefully, updates to CaptureShop and eXposure are not far behind.

Unless you use flash (which I don't) or the new 65, there seems little reason to install these updates. Or am I missing something?

Best,

Mitchell

FYI, here what this firmware update does/changes:

Version 2.11 for Sinar Hy6

• Supports Sinar Hy6 65 and Sinarback eSprit 65 LV

• In order to operate with a Sinar Hy6 with firmware
2.11, a Sinarback eMotion must be equipped with
firmware version 5.08 or higher.

• The Exposure Bracketing now is also supported
when using the SCA flash interface

• Long time exposures are no longer aborted by
pressing the exposure release button a second time.
Now, to abort long time exposures the camera has
to be switched off.

• The "Flash ready" information on the focusing
screen display has changed.

Best regards,
Thierry

i dont understand this. does it mean you can expose longer than 32 seconds and you have to switch of the back to stop the exposure? doesnt make sense in this way or?

It seems that previously if you started a long exposure, and you wanted to abort it, you could press the shutter release a second time. I suppose this must have caused inadvertent abortions, because now you have to switch off the back to abort a long exposure. The maximum exposure time presumably remains the same.

It looks Sinar are talking about the Hy6 camera not the eMotion back here.Yevgeny

yes, that's correct: switch off the camera, not the back.

best regards,
Thierry

Thierry,

I did this latest update for the eMotion75, hoping that the colors on the display were improved, but they are still un-readable. When will the weird color issues be addressed?

Thanks, Robert
