G10 problem
« on: December 23, 2008, 04:15:58 am »

Hi to all,

This week-end I've gone to French Alps to make some snow courses.

When I developped my photos with Lightroom 1 (DNG conversion before), I've discovered a strange thing when trying to make good White Balance.

If the center of the photo is good, the surround seems to have a GREEN COLOR CAST.
The more you go outside, the more that green is important.

Note that I've checked the screen and taken shots of a white sheet of paper, the result is the same.

Anyone who experience such a thing ?

More important, what's the remedy if possible in Lightroom 1 or Photoshop CS ?!

Have a Nice Day !

Thierry

Post a sample, preferably RAW or DNG.

No such problems with mine, converted to DNG and then to LR 2.1.

My home connection is very limited in upload, so I will send a "dng" sample as soon as I will be at work.

But this is only visible in snow pictures !!!

I've tried to make a mask and use color correcting tools of CS, but I'm not specialist !!

Bernard, have you shot some "snow pictures" with your G10 ?!

Have a Nice Day.

Problem resolved with a "Color Control" layer and a "homemade" mask.

Works perfect !

This does not solve the problem but hides it.
