Canon ip8500
« on: December 18, 2008, 06:06:41 pm »

Hi,

I have one of these printers. I also now have an Epson 3800, so I don't use the Canon any more. I'd like to keep it, though, against the day when I might decide that I or someone I love has need of it.

What's the best way of clearing the head of ink, so it doesn't get horribly clogged while it's not in use? Is it even necessary?

Thanks

Jeremy

Funny, I'm in the same situation -just bought a Epson 3800 (what a printer!), I am just thinking about selling the IP8500.

Question: Why do you what to keep the Canon? The ink is about double of the ink to the 3800.

It's virtually worthless, so there's not much point in selling it, and someone (perhaps one of my daughters) might want it in due course.

Anyway, I hate throwing things away. That's why I still have my SE/30.
