In eastern Massachusetts we have been spared, but the scenes on the TV news are truly grim. I've been tempted to drive up to NH to photograph, but I don't want to get in the way of crews trying to restore power to the hundreds of thousnads who still don't have it.

my radio transmitter was down from thursday until wednesday. Everything was wet with condensation and a $15K exciter didn't work when I dried everything out and started it back up. so we were down for another 24 hrs.

I'm just outside Concord, NH, where my parents live; visiting for a few days.  They got about 8 inches of snow yesterday and last night and power is now mostly back in the area; though there are pockets of people who still don't have it.  The unfortunately situation is that most people stay in their houses, despite having little to no heat, because they are trying to keep fireplaces and/or stoves running to keep pipes from freezing.

The news says that crews are still out working to restore power to those still without, but with all the downed trees, it's tough.  Now with the wind, snow, and low temps, it's even tougher.

I am hoping to get outside today and tomorrow to take some shots with my new Aptus II 6.

I'm in portsmouth and was only out at my place for 12 hrs.
my radio transmitter in durham was out for 6 days (there was ever a FEMA generator out there running some sprint equipment and they didn't fix the power until the FEMA generator died and the local police lost their contact chain. too bad I couldn't plug into the FEMA trailer).
My mom (sandown, nh) was down until thursday/fridayI think, 8 days.
my dad (Deering, NH) is still without power 10 days later, but has a generator and cable/internet works.

funny cause my dad has 10 miles of down power lines around him, but his gf works for PSNH (the electrical company out here)

I'm by Mt Rainier and we have almost 4’ of snow on the ground. Power has been on and off what seams like a dozen times in the last week.

Many people in New Hampshire and Masachusetts wouldn't have minded too much having power "on and off" for the past few weeks. What has been especially devastating for many (I am, thankfully, not one of them) is that after a couple of weeks without any power at all, during which time there were a couple of periods of extended deep freezes (close to zero Fahrenheit temperatures), pipes start breaking once the power comes back on, causing enormous damage and heartache. My sympathy goes out to those who have suffered.
