Firmware for HP z 3100

I am sorry if this has been asked before.  I could not find it with search.

I am using my Z3100 with both a Mac and PC.  Do I install firmware for both OS or is the firmware independent of the OS.

Hello Param,

The firmware itself is specific to the printer.  The OS dependency comes from which machine you're going to be using to install the firmware.  For example, if you're going to be downloading on a Windows machine get the Windows version.  The file will unpack to the firmware file which you will then install from the Windows machine.  If you're installing from a Mac just download the Mac version.
