Hasselblad H3D 50 to 60 upgrade option
« on: December 10, 2008, 11:42:27 am »

i just heard that (from robert white in the UK) that the hasselblad offer to buy the H3D II 50 now and then later update to
the H3D II 60 by just paying the price difference was discontinued. this would really be a pity and not good customer service,
in light of an announcement which happens one year before product intro.
david, do you have info on this?
thanks in advance, peter

Hi Peter,

Perhaps RW have got mixed up but there was (as far as I am aware) no campaign to go from 50->60.

There was an early adopter scheme for the 50MP which meant if you bought a 39 earlier on in the year then you could take the 50 for the difference in price, but that was also some time ago.

Ill check tomorrow but I assume there is some misinformation somewhere.

Best,

David

H3D50's are shipping now so I would imagine you don't have too long to wait.  Check with your dealer for better information.

My H3DII 50 was delivered yesterday. It will see its first sunrise tomorrow morning (if it stops raining here in Sydney).

I just checked with sales and you can upgrade a H3D50 to an H3D60.

The offer runs until December 31st 2008.

When the H3D60 is ready, he/she returns the H3D50.

Best Regards,

David

Good news.  Glad to hear you will have your 50 soon.

Due to the substantial price cuts across the H3D range there is generally fewer upgrade options.  But discuss with your dealer.

Best Regards,

David
