Qimage and 4880 printing dye sub
« on: November 29, 2008, 07:00:45 pm »

We had such a great experience with Qimage and our Z3100 that I tried a copy on our Epson 4880 which prints dye sub with Artanium inks. The quality does not make sense, it is not near what we expected. I expected better than CS2 quality and comparable color. The color is light and blue. I am using the exact same printer driver settings i used in CS2. No double profiles. Here they are:

matte photo quality inkjet paper
no color management in driver
adobe 98
relative
output profile is supplied by Artanium

This is the exact same settings in CS2...shouldn't I have similar results? I can see the sharpening that is inherent with Qimage but the color is whacked. Interestingly there is a huge difference between perceptual and relative....usually is a small difference in CS2. Any ideas? I will also email Qimage.
