base 24" Z3100- communication issue
« on: November 25, 2008, 10:09:57 pm »

Hi guys,
Maybe someone can help me here?
My onboard menu is locked up!
Also, before the lock-up I was going to install an ICC but I recieved a prompt telling me that the printer is unavailable or off line?
I keep the printer on so I don't understand what's happening here.
I recently(like most of us) updated the firmware and the driver and all seemed OK with very little change accept the new features available with the latest firmware. Although--maybe I'm crazy but it seems like I lost about 1/4" of my total printable width after the new firmware.
At this time (and I will to move on)I will have to unplug the printer to get it to respond.
I thought I heard of someone else having this problem a while back? Tried a search but came up empty!

Thanks,

Dave

Occasionally my Z3100 stops responding to the network. A simple cycle of the power switch always cures it. It happened today during a calibration. Last time was about 3 weeks ago. I don't know why, but so far it has been easy to overcome.

Good luck,
Jim

The same here with my Z3200, even without updating any firmware.
Time glass in the display is frozen, printer hangs.
Switching power off, 5 seconds, and on again cures it.
In this situation it’s normal that the HP Printer Utility does not respond.
BTW, I’ve read about this problem also in this forum; advise was to start without Q-image and see what happens.
