RIP software for OS X
« on: November 21, 2008, 11:41:51 am »

Can anyone recommend a software RIP to run on a Mac and and Epson 7600/4000.

I am using QuadTone RIP for black and white that produces excellent results, but I also want to do colour.

ColorBurst is excellent but you should also weigh that cost to the cost of buying a printer to replace those.

I second the the new printer. A full version of Colorburst is somewhat costly. QTR is nice but I think in the end it's going to produce results that are on par with what you can get from the 7880 with the Advanced BW mode. otherwise I think colorburst is your best bet. Image print is okay as well, but all things being equal I like CB better.

The only good thing I have experienced with ImagePrint is image quality. The rest including customer support is very lacking.

I have been using ColorBurst since I got my 7600 back in 2003. The results have been great but one thing ColorBurst is missing is nesting.

ColorBurst Layout series RIPs have nesting while Queue series RIPs don't.

What makes you think you need a RIP? What are you trying to accomplish?
