epson11880 cuts image after 190cm size
« on: November 13, 2008, 12:51:05 pm »

today we wanted to print out of photoshop cs4,  leopard 10.5.5, macbookpro 2x2,2ghz.

image size was 161 x 215 cm.

at first we tried with a 1,95Gb file, 360 DPI and 2880 DPI in the printer setting.
it did not worked. after the file was completely spooled the printer started to move out the paper.
we had to stop the print job. second try, happened the same.

than we downsampled to 288 DPI in the same size. 1,24 Gb was the size of the resulting file.

everything worked out fine but after printing app. 190cm appeared a white stripe over the image, 0,8cm wide, with sharp edges.
after the stripe the printer went on with the motiv till it was finished, although part of the image where appeared the stripe was not contained.

paper size setting in the printer setting was "roll paper".

where is the mistake? thanks a lot for advices....

Try sizing 240 DPI instead, or use a rip/3rd-party printing program for larger prints as you can run out of memory when printing directly from CS. I use Q-Image which is a PC-only printing program, so I run it in a Fusion/XP window on my Mac and all of those printing issues disappeared.
