Has anyone been to Iceland since the economy crashed.  When I went there in 2006 100 US dollars would get you just over 6,000 Icelandic Kroner.  Now 100 USD gets you 23,700 ISK.  This means that 100 USD in 2006 is now the equivalent of 395 USD.

I am just wondering if prices have gone up there or if they have stayed the same and everything is much cheaper there.  What are gas and beer prices like.  These are of course the two most important goods.  When I was there I believe gas worked out to be around 7-8 dollars US per gallon, and a beer at the bar averaged 10 USD.

Had anyone been recently?

Yes, prices have gone up over here as there is 17% inflation. At today's exchange rate the gallon of fuel is 5 USD and a beer in a bar will set you back about 7 USD. So right now it's cheaper than 2006. But many tourist based industries (hotels, guides and such) have switched to price lists in foreign currencies (mostly Euro). How things will be next summer no one knows. Maybe we won't even have our own currency anymore, the ISK is just about dead.
