I have two batteries for my e75 (I don't own a Hy6) - a Varta V290 (7.2V 2000 mah) that came with the back, and a spare which has a Sinar sticker on it and is a 7.2v 2400mah battery.

Sounds like the Vartas are OK, but maybe hard to find now.


I'd also be interested in a charger, preferably one that charges 2 batteries at a time.

Any suggestions?

I use a Sony charger that takes 2 batteries.

I know the Sinar batteries aren't cheap,however would you buy cheap tires for your Aston Martin?

Also,you loose your warranty as well.

It's important to note that the battery compartment on the e75 will appear to fit the smaller Sony battery. Be aware, however, that the Sony battery will become stuck in the e75 due to the tight clearances in the battery compartment. We haven't found other suitable options which we can ensure will fit properly.

My Sinar batteries are not "Aston Martin tires" or any such thing, they're just batteries (Pisen TS-DV0001-F570 7.2V 2000mAh Li-Ion batteries) apparently out of China.

I purchased a few identical replacements from a company in Hong Kong, but they only had a few and informed me after several weeks of trying that the manufacturer wasn't making them any longer.  (True or not, I can't say.)

(I spend some time in the field away from power sources for extended times so I was looking for quite a few batteries.)

Sony NP-F750 [7.2V, 15.8Wh (= 2194 mAh)] and Ray-O-Vac RAY550 [7.2V, 2100mAh] batteries work in the camera just fine but have a fit issue with the e75LV back (they're too big).

Energizer ER-C520 [7.2V, 2000mAh] have been working just fine for months.

I find the Sony BC-V500 charger is great--it charges 2 at a time, is world power compatible (req's physical adaptation), and is about as compact as possible, given the battery sizes.

i also use the sony charger. its very small and charges fine both sizes, 2000 + 2400 ma.
although shooting time isnt bad with the 2000ma batteries, the 2400 last much longer with the e75.

I updated my post before someone goes out and buys a ton of Ray-O-Vac based on my information.  I double-checked and it turns out that the Ray-O-Vacs have  the same fit issue that the Sonys do.  (Actually, they do fit a little better, but they're still too large).  I've updated the post, but wanted to call this out specifically.  The Pisens and the Energiziers work and fit just fine.
