The price of gas is more important to photographers. Should we start threads about that?
The price of food is more important to photographers. Should we start threads about that?
Comfortable shoes are more important to photographers. Should we start threads about that?
Having a good relationship with ones co-workers is more important to photographers. Should we start threads about that?
Submitting the best possible tax return is more important to photographers. Should we start threads about that?
Taking a good vacation now and then is more important to photographers. Should we start threads about that?
etc...

We have specific forums for a reason. I don't know why that's so hard for some people to understand

As I said debatable, you already started the debate. If you feel the need to open any of the above mentioned topic threads because you think it is important, go ahead. I think it is shortsighted to believe a different administration is not important or even less important than the things mentioned by you. I think some of the people that have been on assigment to several places in the world would agree, I even know several that do and even 1 that isn't around anymore to testify to that. Sure, things change slowly and maybe this will not change a bit but, hey a guy must have dreams right?

No need to play forum police if you don't see the points people are making or if you don't agree. Photography is more than just the equipment. Maybe this thread should not be in this place which is something I do agree upon with you.

Simplify,
That's great to see - when it was announced we all spilled out into the streets and danced here too by my house on Divisadero  -  wondered if it was like that everywhere else too and great to see your pic.
Cheers - the clouds went away and the sun is shinning!
Eric

Graham,
Maybe in Estonia you don't feel it, but believe me this is a huge uplift to us here. My wife, who is German, compared it to when the wall came down when she was little.  A life changing event.

I am joining my voice to the majority for this expected and huge change: as said Rainer, anything else would have been a disaster.

However: I wish I can celebrate the same way and on this forum as well, and that people will not get upset with me then, the day in France we will have this kind of change and when people will get rid of the current president/administration.

Cheers to all celebrating,
Thierry

Maybe we should ask ourself, is it really an upgrade? is the mount changable should we realise in a few months that we put our word on the wrong system? is obama really full frame or is it just ad-speak? is there a real wide angle solution or does he rely on software corrections? aren't the japanese offering the same, if not better for half the price? how much of it is noise, what's real data? is he really delivering 16 bit or is it just 14bit, again?

I am really glad he made it, but his is the last job in the world i would want to have right now. i just cannot get over the feeling, that this wouldn't bring that big change, everybody is hoping for.

I'm in Italy at the moment, but I stayed up till 6.30am to see it all unfold in real time, and I couldn't be happier. This is a defining moment in history that will shape the future to come, for the better, I'm sure of it. Time to celebrate!

2 funny observations: Over half of the posts in this thread come from people live outside of the US, and its become clear that nobody here must make over $250,000/year

All those things are specific to the individuals circumstance. This is a collective event. Moments like these cut through the 'rules'.

Sitting here in Australia I feel 8 years of psychic pain is now over. The tide has flowed back the other way and while, as all politicians of hope, there are bound to be disappointments down the track, in the short term at least there seems to be the chance of a more reasoned, balanced and human approach to some big problems we all face right now.

Can't wait for the new beginning;
(1). Announcement of the exact date, when we pull out of Afghanistan & Iraq. Hate to be last plane leaving. Talliban will save all their ammo & have their own new beginning for them on next day.
(2). Open up the borders for everybody to flood the social security system.
(3). Tax the shit out of corporation, so they will stay in US & bring more jobs in US..
  (4) Democrats DID have majority & SanFran did have Speaker Of House & we got more in trouble, wait I take it back, they did achieve something, now Gay & Lesbians can get married..not that there is anything wrong with it. Other than that what did they achieve & this coming from a guy who voted Democratic till this election.
Would you give your high budgeted campaign to a guy, who only shot with point & shoot for last 6 months, I know I couldn't, wouldn't & didn't.
   Over & out.

I send my money to phase one, they got it all.

As some one say, now they will take better photos

Now I'm scare,

I think the only people it doesnt scare and who Obama hussein will be celebrating are the radical muslims, terrosists groups and of course the American commi's as well as the people who are depressed and need someone to hold their hand.

HE IS A LIAR and is BAD for America.

May God bless all

Well, you should be used to that by now, from the last 8 year. Cheers.
