Canon DPP forum?
« on: October 29, 2008, 11:27:32 pm »

Exactly this.

Why doesn't Canon DPP have a forum in the RAW section?

Looks like there are several DPP users on LL.

It would newer photographers allow to overcome the hurdle of its rather clunky interface and discover its great capabilities by posting their questions there.

Upgrade links could also be posted.

Well, you could make the same "several" argument for Nikon Capture and it's hardly attracted huge crowds. Even the Camera Raw one is not exactly bursting at the seams....

Maybe change the Nikon Capture forum to "Other raw converters" and describe it as for NC, DPP, Bibble etc. Otherwise, we'll soon have a long list of forums for every subject.

Agreed - a general 'other RAW converter' forum is probably the best and most salient solution - for those who have not yet seen the light of lightroom

These forums have only just been created and will possibly become more popular. One reason they aren't popular ... IMO ... is that some posters still post in other forums - posts -  that should be in there? More forums should mean less posting in forums that aren't appropiate ..... a problem that has increased recently.

The Nikon Capture forum has been there 6 months and has 20 threads - roughly one new thread a week. Does anyone seriously think adding DPP, Bibble and others won't take it to the giddy heights of 2 - even 2.5?
