A couple of members have logically suggested keeping computer and related equipment discussions out of this 'Digital Image Processing' area and placing them in their own section under 'Equipment & Technique'.

A suggestion would be to re-name the 'Managing Megabytes' section of that area to 'Computer & Peripherals' or some such and moving equipment discussions there. Comments?

I like the renaming suggestion.

I was never very happy with the category "Managing Megabytes", I think it's too narrow.

I agree with Jani.

And it is important to have such an area here, as the computer questions do deal with the needs of photographers, rather than those of gamers or SW developers or casual users.

Sounds good to me.  Computers are a requirement for pretty much everyone these days...

Another vote for a renaming of the Managing Megabytes forum.

Done.
You will notice several moved topics and an edited Managing Megabytes section that is now 'Computers & Peripherals'. There are likely other topics that should be moved - let me know.

While you are doing a reshuffle of forum headings, in my mind the Printer, Papers and Inks would logically go in "Equipment and Techniques" I looked quickly through the last page of threads under the Printers,Paper and Inks section and all seemed to be about equipment - machines/printers - paper - ink. and not really about "Processing." I think that the main heading "Raw and Post Processing, Printing" should be renamed to just "Processing", to cover all aspects of file development, whether it be conversion from camera or to print, and then move the "Printing" section down to equipment and Techniques.

Just the way my mind would organise things.
