That said, Hasselblad will always utilize the most current sensor technology available to us in the CF product line.

Paul

Not wanting to jump to conclusions but does that mean we can see a CF50 in the near future & maybe even a (near) full 645 CF60?

It is to early to say regarding a CF50, Hasselblad is working hard to complete production on the H3DII50, that is the primary focus.
CF60, it would be a little premature for me to speculate on this.

Hi Bas,

I am not certain to whom you sent your letter to, was it to the factory in Sweden?

(...)

Newer backs, more pixels, bigger sensors?
Currently the CFV/CFVII integrates nicely with a modified 200 series camera (202FA, 203FE, 205TCC, 205FCC) and there are no plans to offer a higher resolution sensor within the CFVII product. That said, Hasselblad will always utilize the most current sensor technology available to us in the CF product line.

(...)

Paul, thank you for your prompt reply.

I entered a message field “contact Hasselblad” on the .com website, Global area.

No news about future product enhancements means not being able to improve image quality / print size. 16 MP is 16 MP. 50 mm is 75 mm(!). I might wait a little longer to see what happens.  Thank you again for your honest answers, I feel taken serious again.
Bas.

Hi Paul,

I would be pleased to learn which corrections are made when using Flexcolor, instead of the long awaited Phocus for Windows?
I'm using Vista, and export to either DNG or JPG.

Regards,

Seyhun

P.S. Many people seem to have an early version of the Phocus for Windows. Why is it so much delayed, and do you know why Hasselblad is not giving away at least the Beta version to their customers? My camera is almost becoming obsolete while waiting for this promise given to me by my dealer, as well as the promise for 1600 ISO (this one is not really important for me though)

Previous message:
When exporting a 3f file to DNG only DAC level 1 chromatic aberration correction is applied. Yes all three levels of DAC will be applied upon export to Tiff or Jpeg.
Level 1: Chromatic Aberration correction
Level 2 : Distortion Correction
Level 3: Vignetting Correction[/color]

All 3 levels of corrections are performed by Flexcolor but NOT if you export a DNG as Paul said.(Same of course applies to Phocus)

Phocus PC is in private beta now and getting good reviews AFAIK. I would expect a public beta release in a couple of weeks. The ISO bump is long overdue, I have asked the question on when we can expect it and will report back.

Seyhun,

I can tell you from using the "private" Phocus PC beta that it's almost there - in fact, you will be very happy when they do release it. I am working between Phocus and Flexcolor right now - doing my sorting and reviewing in Phocus PC and my image work back in Flexcolor. It would do you no good to get Phocus PC before Hasselblad feels it's ready - and they are right about this policy.

Why does it take so long? Because writing 100K to 200K lines of programming code is not easy - trust me. Plus they have to support two versions, Mac and PC - also, not easy.

I know that does not help you, but I know Hasselblad is working hard on it.

Kind regards,
Derek

Any chance we will see a full frame sensor for the Hasselblad V series?

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum.

I just received my H3D-31 11 and I was trying to set up the camera. I went through all the manuals on
the disk provided. I was not able to find a way to set the Histogram in RGB, is there a way?

Is it possible at all?

Thanks,

Raj

To my knowledge, neither Kodak or Dalsa are manufacturing a 55x55 sensor at this time, i think the chances are slim.

All CF and H3D/H3DII products have a DSP on board and the Histogram does reflect a composite of the RGB values, though it does not display the individual channels on the digital magazines dsplay.
