Shipping a used printer
« on: October 14, 2008, 05:58:19 pm »

I'm currently selling my Epson R2400 and wondered if anyone had experience of shipping a used printer.

Its about 70% full of ink, so I want to enable the buyer to keep the ink. But I expect that I need to remove the cartridges for transport and wonder what the best way is to temporarily seal the cartridges.

Also I guess I'll replace as much of the tape that is used to ship the printer in the first place, and lock the print head in position.

Has anyone done this successfully?

Ah, looked at the manual, it has a section on this. You are right Doomster,  the inks have to be left in.  So the printer needs to be moved in the upright position otherwise ink will go everywhere, so that counts out shipping via a courier.

Thanks
