« on: October 07, 2008, 07:37:41 pm »

so i dont know the proper forum to put this, but i figure you color management folk probably use wacom tablets and might have a trick to this. I just ordered a 6x11 tablet and it arrived today, the plastic on the corners is peeled off, is it suppose to be like this, is there a trick to get it to lay back down flatly????????????

Which model? On Intuos nothing peels off, and it even seems there's not a chance for something like that...

It doesn't sound right. Send it back for a warranty replacement.

My experience with Wacom's customer support has been excellent. I had a tablet that stopped working after 2 years and they replaced it with a new one.

The working area is a replaceable piece - its designed to peal out - the top edge is the only part that has double stick going across it.   When new the plastic surface is covered with a clear protective peal off plastic sheet.  Please check and see if this is what your are seeing on yours - the actual plastic working mats doesn't bend all that easily unless its been pulled up out of its recessed area and bent.

The plastic that has pealed - is it clear?  if so then that is indeed the clear protective coat which is to be pealed off before using.
