What equipment are you looking for? Camera - Grip - Grip truck? I started doing some digital tech and renting H2 with Leaf back plus grip and lighting.

You also have

Pix Camera
Calumet
Samy's

plus a few other places.

Camera bodies, lenses, laptop - DSLR

No immediate need. Future gig may require.

I use Samy's all the time and they have always come thru for me, but I also use Flashlights--now located in Pasadena for strobe equipment.

-5 locations, huge inventory.

-Open long hours for early pick-up and late delivery.

You can also rent from places like Pier59, Smashbox, 5th and Sunset, and Quixote studios.  Some of these studios can cater to special requests (like you showing up at 5 am to drive away a cube truck with all the equipment and film already loaded up for you).  They will also drive all over town to collect the various items you need for your shoot.  It is a premium price though.

Flashlights is great if you need strobes, large selection and people who know their stuff.

Sammys also left a very positive impression on me but I never rented from them.
