Edit in CS3 not working
« on: September 30, 2008, 11:09:44 pm »

The "edit in Photoshop" command is not working.  nothing happens.  When I drag and drop onto PS in the dock on my mac, the image opens in Camera Raw, which then needs to open and then save as a tiff to work on.

What do I need to do get this functioning properly?

Without more information, it's not possible to answer the question.

What version of LR are you using? What version of PS do you have? Is it fully up-to-date? Is there an apostrophe in the name of the folder enclosing your image file?

Wasn't this one of the fixes in 2.1?  You could try the RC or wait for it to be released.  (Or is it released?  I haven't checked recently.)

I solved this problem by re-installing Photoshop. It irritated me a good deal at the time and I don't know why it was necessary.

I think LR 2.1 (not finally released but a release candidate beta is available on Adobe's site) addresses the problem.

For many of us LR2 "edit in Photoshop" doesn't work unless you go back to the LR1.x way of creating an intermediate file.

Many have reported that LR RC 2.1 fixes this.

Interesting ... I was having this problem sporadically, but now that you mention it I can't remember having a problem for a while ... since I moved to 2.1RC.

would seem that may fix it, for some anyway.

If there's a letter other than a-z in the foldername enclosing your image files it will be an error. (Like å,ä and ö in Sweden).

And thats not fixed in 2.1 RC.

PS. You have to make shure you have Photoshop version 10.0.1 not 10.0 that was shippep with CS3.
