Logo Design no-works...
« on: September 26, 2008, 03:33:47 am »

Hi!

I am wondering who can point me to someone familiar with Adobe InDesign enough to draft me up a simple logo design. I have used two online companies to date...and their management skills and handiwork are both, sadly, pathetic.

My logo is for iPodGraphics.com, and I need it to be vector-based (for watermarks). I know exactly what it needs to look like...I just need to implement it!

Thank you!

I've no idea if you are working for Apple. But if you're not, I'd be careful with that name as Apple will unleash trained attack lawyers for trademark infringement very fast.

I've had good experience with guru.com.

Just a friendly piece of advice ... Apple has some fairly strict usage guidelines for their logo and you have to have permission to use it and they do enforce them so you might want to reconsider your choices for your logo

Some more friendly advice. I've done graphic design for 20+ years for many major brands, if your serious about your endeavor, hire a professional to design this for you. Contact your local AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) or look at their website to find some designers.

You may think all you need is to implement what you have concepted but by the looks of it, that won't fly. Your idea is copyright infringement (draws both name and inspiration from Apple product and logo). Sorry to say but you will most likely have to change the name and the look. This will cost money but not as much as the money you could lose by being sued. Have you even done a trademark search on your name? I would start there.

Best of luck,
Doug
