Lets see those workhorses!
« Reply #20 on: September 27, 2008, 03:39:25 pm »

here is my p45+ the day I received it about a year ago.  I now use it on Mamiya, because my 4x5 could not focus accurately enough.
I wish I had samuel's hassy set up.  I may have to get a back switch.

What is the goal of this? Tilts and shifts? Why go to this trouble, over say, Hassie or Contax or Mamiya?

Yes of course,  it is for tilts and shifts, as well as the capabilities of the stitching back, not to mention the superior sharpness of the Schnieder D lenses.

i know this very good photographer that stitches. most everything and he shots with the canon eos mark III and the canons tilt shift lens.

[a href=\"http://tinyurl.com/4wwwlg]http://tinyurl.com/4wwwlg[/url]

he hand holds and stitches moving people together in the photograph.

it's like magic that he can do this.

but he does do this.

Cool thread.
Here's mine:

hi samuel, i guess this is a phase 1 back. what is your crop factor? and is the sensor landscape-format or portrait-format? looks like a very nice set-up.

Hi thomas,
this is a P20 so the sensor is squared. The crop factor is 1,5. No very wide but stitching works when needed.

Gidday,

This is my latest beast.

I had a engineer make a adapter plate using a old Mamiya extension tube so I could mount my Mamiya 645AFDII on to a Horseman VCC view camera adapter.

Cheers

My most ugly combo. The one that gives me the greatest close portrait results.

Hi EPd,
What's the matte box you have on the 150 apo?  I use more or less this combo but can't figure out what you have there and how you've connected it to the lens (black fabric covering the connection?)
Thanks,
Eric

rarely use this anymore.... the 1ds3 is just an easier and quicker workflow ( I tend to shoot 1000's of frames on a 1 day shoot )..... and the MBP's won't drive the fireiwire without a power booster. but the fcm2000/110 f2, 50 f2.8/H20 has given me over 20,000 fantastic captures.

Thank you, yes.
The Zeiss lenses via adapter are ok, I now got a 100mm Digitar and it's really great, very sharp.
I use the Rmfx viewfinder from Hasselblad in the studio, easy working when you have strobes. the Silvestri viewer "Easy bellow" isn't that good. The groundglass could be better too on location, I'm trying to contact B.Maxwell for an offer.
I don't regret selling 2 old Sinars and the Flexbody. It's an allround toy, a very good one, of course there a specialized cameras for architecture-only people and more sophisticated view cameras for studio guys.
Still waiting for a 35mm, heard about problems when stitching with wide angle lenses. But I'm not a stitching guy anyway.

Not gear but my new studio here in La Paz... with the light bank that I just built from scratch. That is 2m tall (6.56 feet) and checked it with my spot flash meter that it has absolute even trow. The design has same principle as Elinchrom with the head pointing back in to the center of the bank (like a huge umbrella) with no reflector...

I will have my firs sitting tomorrow and will probably post some images here (I said probably in case the shoot crashes and burns ... no postings

hey guys,

we've seen the work, now lets see those cams/hybrid-cams that help u get the work done. Just post some pics of your main workhorse, with its unique paint tears and/or scars, or any modifications u have done on it, or heck, even if its brand new.

heres my black beauty...rb67h20, a blend of the first generation of hardcore mechanics with state of the art electronics. Glad i chose this over the 1dsmark3. More happy after the 5d2 announcement.

adapter mod: the red circle in the third pic indicates the pin in the adapter plate that wakes the back when u half press the shutter release. This not only makes capture in a single click possible, but also there is no absolutely no shutter lag.

I shot quite a few medium format systems, but the longest history and mileage goes to Contax 645 and Phase backs, and lenses (includes come Hasselblad CF/FE lenses thru MAM-1), and Alpa 12.
