hey guys,

we've seen the work, now lets see those cams/hybrid-cams that help u get the work done. Just post some pics of your main workhorse, with its unique paint tears and/or scars, or any modifications u have done on it, or heck, even if its brand new.

heres my black beauty...rb67h20, a blend of the first generation of hardcore mechanics with state of the art electronics. Glad i chose this over the 1dsmark3. More happy after the 5d2 announcement.

adapter mod: the red circle in the third pic indicates the pin in the adapter plate that wakes the back when u half press the shutter release. This not only makes capture in a single click possible, but also there is no absolutely no shutter lag.

Just out of curosity how much does a Rollei and 2 lens cost more or less..
What's the sync on that Rollei with flash also?

I hate to buy anything new...
I am looking for a high sync solution and that the Rollei is a classic. Very beautiful camera and the lens look amazing.
I know nothing about lens for the Rollei. Just know they are sharp.
I was just wondering what it would set me back to change platforms. I am using RZII and Mamiya at the moment. 1/400th is not that great and I really for some reason, maybe stupid, just do not like Hassleblad.. I know it is a good camera but something about it makes me think it is plasticy and not very sturdy.

I do sometimes travel with all the lenses + TC (particularly on a long trip without too much hiking where the opportunities will be unknown), but when I'm in the mountains or doing other strenuous work to get to the location, I usually select only two + TC.  I had 'em all with me in Iceland when I shot the horses, though.

Graham, is that a Zeiss 50 FLE I see in the background?  Any chance you could send me a shot at infinity taken with it?

Is there a used market?

You can certainly get a 6008AF with an 80mm and 150mm quite readily. Some other lenses can take longer to find.

There's quite a lot of Rollei gear in the LL 'for sale' forum right now, including at least 7 lenses.

Please not this combo is high on quality, but the lack of digital interface means you have to use sync cable. There is no EXIF available, and you need to set the ISO manually on both the camera and the back. This is probably no different to the RZ, but I have no experience of that.

One of the reasons I chose Rollei to begin with was the fastest leaf shutter lenses. For example, there's a 50mm f2.8, 80mm f2, 110mm f2 and 180mm f2.8. Much faster than Mamiya RZ, right?

Unfortunately I don't own the 50mm - I have the 40mm instead which is a great lens.

Oh the lens IS a Zeiss Distagon 50/4 FLE, but it's not yours--I thought the last photo you posted was of your kit as well...  My bad!

I see you shoot with an L bracket.
I do same but to shoot that way whilst tethered need a right angle usb cable...have you found one or do you not shoot tethered with that set up?

Marc, I have the same set-up and shoot tethered fine. what are you shooting that is USB?
I shoot with Phase and the firewire goes in the back of the back.
Can you be more specific? I never even new there was anything else but firewire for tethering MFDB?

mine is afd-PhaseOne P25 that does not have USB but FireWire and connects in the back so there is no problem when rotating the camera. The bracket was good when shooting different paintings because the axis of the lens remains the same saving time adjusting the tripod and tripod head. Also the center of gravity of the camera remains on top of tripod and tripod head. I recommend the Arca Swiss adapter to hold the bracket that has a safety mechanism...

..yes snook, I know Leonardo shoots afd from post, but was not sure how connection worked with his back, so thought I'd ask anyway as did also wonder how the heavier mf set fared on the L plates.

Thanks for comments Leonardo, good to know L plates work as well on heavier mf/db set up.
