Cataloguing Medium/Large Format Scans

Wondering what tools people are using to catalog their medium and large format scans?

Have tried Lightroom 2 and it doesn't like files over 250MB.  Most of my scans from 120 (6x7) are in 350-400MB.  I haven't tried Aperture yet.  What options exist for a Mac user?

I also thought of possibly archiving the full size scan and then creating a smaller version for importing into Lightroom or Aperture.....is this a better solution?

Expressions Media works fine with big files - I use it for my digital files and all my scanned trannies (which end up as 275mb files).

Your idea of using smaller proxies is a good one too.
