Well, we're still here. The first test has been done this morning, about 7 hours ago. I live just 45 miles from the LHC.

That was just one direction, and in a few days, the other. In three weeks we'll have the fireworks. Even then, there are some claims that it will take a few weeks of continuous bombardment to take affect, or like winning the lottery, produce just the right combination.
Lots of doomsday scenarios, and counter arguments, and neither side seems to have solid, conclusive evidence to prove one way or the other. I guess that's why they call it an experiment?
None-the-less, all this drama is very interesting, as we are living a piece of history that may change everything -and hopefully for the good.
