1D and DS3 autofocus fied, or not?

According to Rob Glabraith, Canon has never really fixed the AF of these two cameras for fast moving subjects.

I'd say that since the last firmware was released in April, Canon is done trying to improve the AF and is now moving on to the MKIV models.

Any opinions on this?

Mine works fine for what I shoot, so I'm not bothered. Also was there not a test somewhere against a Nikon and they both got about the same hit rate on moving subjects?
I would be happier if Canon made some wide lenses that were worth trying to focus on static objects.

That's OK, soon you'll be able to buy some Zeiss lenses that'll fit straight on.

My 1Ds3 also focuses perfectly well for everything I shoot
