This whole sinewave thing is a little confusing [a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=220141\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a]

Basically what comes out of the mains is a nice sinwave of AC power

a smooth curve like sea waves

what comes out of some cheap generators is a much more blocky AC power

a blocky wave like the top of a castle wall

the blocky power is fine for running kettles or heaters or any other simple equpment

but complex devices like laptop chargers or flash power packs require the nice smooth AC current and can be damaged by the blocky power

there a 'black boxes' that can take that blocky power and smooth it to a nice sine wave

ps my elly classics run off a really cheap generator (blocky power) 1000WS of light off of a 3600watt generator
