Longest print??
« on: August 26, 2008, 05:02:15 am »

Help Please.  I have a HP Z3100 - 24 inch, MacBook Pro, Leopard.  I am trying to print a pano and need to know what is the maximum length I can print using the roll.  I can not find this by Googling or searching this forum but I feel I've seen it stated already.  Thanks for any replies.

You will be safe below 129 Inch at least that is what most report on the 44"model. Above that the reports vary. I have been able to reach 144 inch on a 44"model but do not ask me why it gets there on one PC system and up to 129 on the other. There are others that could get up to 200 inch.

With the older drivers probably still true for very long prints you'd best turn the ppi down to 150 dpi or ppi and print at Best quality. When I did that I was able to print consistently at 110-130 inches.
It was disappointing to find after spooling a 300 ppi file to have the printer drop the job only to find out the file res had to be dropped to get it to print.
