CS3 - Pasted eyes move out of alignment
« on: August 13, 2008, 04:04:48 pm »

When I select the eyes with the lasso tool, and paste it on a new layer, they are exactly where the eyes on the original layer were.

If I then sharpen them (more than the rest of the image), the eyes seem to have lost that position matching exactly the eyes on the original layer below.

When you switch on and off the eye layer, the eyes move slightly.

I tried to explain it with the reflections in the eyes moving slightly, due to sharpening.

But that's not really it. They moved slightly out of their original place.

Has anybody noticed things like that happening?

edit:

I used a different approach.

1. big selection with of upper face area with eyes area marquee tool.

2. Pasted big selection of upper face area on new layer.

3. Loaded selection of the eyes I used to cut them out.

4. Inversed selection and chose cut.

5. Now I had the absolute same eye cut-out on a different layer, I sharpened them, and now the eyes were perfectly aligned with the rest of the image on another layer.

I'm puzzled.

Why did this work perfectly, but not just cutting out the (small) eye section and sharpen it on another layers?
