Got mine this past Monday. It's a great reference book on LR2, and about twice the page count as the original, with more in-depth treatment in a number of areas.

I picked it up at my local Borders in Ann Arbor yesterday.

Multiple copies in stock (despite their web site listing a December 08 release date.   )

Cheaper than Amazon with a coupon from their Borders Rewards membership.

Best,
Michael

I have Scott Kelby's book for  LR1.0 and I recently upgraded to 2.0... waiting for his 2.0 book.

BUT, how doesMartin Evening's book (I guess you can only compare his version 1.0 book with Scott's version 1.0 book) compare with the work of Kelby?

On the  other hand, I don't know how much longer I will want to wait...

Yeah, Martin worked real hard to get his book done, edited and printed to be as close to the release date as possible...easier for Martin than most people since he's very close to the development of Lightroom. Plus, Martin is also under the gun to finish off his Photoshop For Photographers book for the "next version of Photoshop" which of course, I can't really talk about...

Don't worry about the .ca site - you can buy direct from the US .com site. Delivery is about 8 dollars, no hassles.

It's only about a week until Photoshop World. My guess is you won't have to keep quiet much longer, eh?

I've had Martin Evening's book from Amazon since the first week of August. It's far more complete than the previous offering with new illustrative material, excepting the convert to B&W section which was from the previous book. I was hoping for some new B&W tricks. I've picked up dozens of points along the way, but none as kewl as Schewe's ToneCurve "shadow" adjustment. I digress.

Excellent book without Kelby's pandemic sillyness.

I was never able to complete the free companion eBook offer from SafariBooks. Perhaps they were not ready for business, because the website was impossible and customer service clueless.

I got mine recently and I can says that this is a very good book. Very detailed. Explains not only how to do someting but also why.
I will also get Scott Kelby's book, mostly because he has a different style and I want to review several LR2 books for my website.

If you want only one book, Martin's book is probably the best choice. I hope to have a review online next week.

Martin writes excellent books, and in a very different style so does Scott. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Scott's work as "pandemic sillyness". Yes, he has a sense of humour which some may like more than others, but when you focus on structure and content, it's darn useful - in a different way from Martin, but still darn useful. Having several of these books on hand, along with Michael and Jeff's tutorial can be helpful notwithstanding the inevitable overlaps, because different things get covered by different authors in different ways.

Markus - thanks for bringing this to our attention. I had ordered the book a couple of days ago and your review makes me yet more keen to receive it. I'm using this program quite intensively now except for printing (because I still think soft-proofing is essential) and I think it is generally excellent. I'm glad to hear Martin's book is so detailed, because I've been discovering there are many subtle options and controls in this program one should master to be fully conversant with it.
