NEC Wuxi 2690 - communications problem?
« on: August 05, 2008, 10:01:31 am »

All of a sudden tonight when  went to recalibrate my NEC2690 with Spectraview II and an I1 Display 2 I keep getting a communication error when it gets to 5.3% and it crashes.

Tried rebooting and a few other things but no joy.

Anyone else seen this problem and know of a fix?

Did you setup your preferences in the Spectraview software for your I1 Display 2 to be recognized?

I had a problem with my i1 recently where it was conflicting with newly installed drivers for an HP all-in-one office printer. Maybe try unplugging all other USB devices or hubs? I actually had to uninstall the HP driver because I called X-rite and they said it was incompatible with the i1 under OS X.

What platform are you running on and what version of SpectraView are you using? If you are running on Windows did you recently update any video drivers, or drivers for the sensor (maybe installed some other application)?

Ok - managed to fix the problem. For some reason it wouldnt work when the existing calibration was turned ON.  I turned it off and it worked. I suspect a windows update to the video driver is the cause of the problem.

I really cant wait for my new Power mac desktop to arrive so I can boot Vista and windows out of my life forever.
