Lightroom calibration for EOS400D
« on: July 28, 2008, 05:44:56 am »

Can someone show us the calibration settings obtained for an EOS 400D in Lightroom ?

Especially for midday sun light.

Or send me the results in a message, if you don't want to present them in public.

Have a Nice Day !

Calibration settings are specific to a given camera rather than to a particular model. Therefore it would not be useful for anyone to provide you with their calibration settings as these would not work for your camera.

Unfortunately this means that you will need to do your own calibration using either a GretagMacbeth Colorchecker or one of the alternative targets that are supported by some of the calibration scripts.

Sorry that I can't be more helpful,
Best wishes

I know, but I've found that many Canon cameras suffer of the same problem using Lightroom.

Seems that you have to slightly shift red, increase red saturation a lot and diminish blue and green slightly.

That's certainly why whithout calibration I have to increase color temperature and shift towards magenta !!!

And so I wanna have a base settings to confirm my calibration

Have a Nice Day.

As of today everything regarding calibration has changed, because Lightroom 2 now has profiles, and a free profile editor is available from Adobe Labs.

You can read more about it here.

To be clear, LR has always had 2 camera profiles working in tandem. It never had, still does not have ICC profiles. What is new is the ability to alter these 3D LUTs with an external editor providing a far greater control over "looks" (They should be called look profiles since they technically are not input profiles) and a far easier way to build a custom calibration than using the old Photoshop scripts of past.
