QImage file format
« on: July 26, 2008, 12:29:52 pm »

I've been using QImage on my Mac (running under Fusion) and I'm pretty impressed. However, some large TIFF files (stitched panoramas) don't open properly: the thumbnail and the main image are garbage. Small TIFFs seem to be fine.

The TIFFs are saved from within PS3.

Is there a limit on the size of TIFFs that QImage can open? Or must I use particular settings when saving the TIFF?

If I save the file as a JPEG, QImage can deal with it without difficulty.

TIA

Tiffs for Qimage must be saved uncompressed, interleaved pixel order and  in IBM  PC byte order.

This is my experience. Occasionallly LR Beta2 will send a file to CS2 in the Mac version and if I don't change it in the save as dialogue, Qimage does not like it.

P.S. Qimage doesn't like layers either.

Make sure you haven't left an orphan channel/mask as well.
