Stefan , I doubt very much that Phase One planned it that way and are not happy that they are easily available for MUCH cheaper.

Thanks
Snook

what about using  a CH-910 Dual Battery Charger/Holder   with  2  Canon  BP-945  or BP 970 (7000 mAh)  for night photography ?  but I would like to be totally sure that 7.2 V or 7.4 V does not matter

Hey eric does that dual charger come with the little "fake"battery tip so you can plug it in the battery slot of the phase One back?
Thanks for the picture..:]

Snook  ,  yes  a little fake battery
the  complete kit >> http://www.amazon.com/Canon-CH-910-Battery...s/dp/B00006I53Y

but I'd like to be 100% sure that 7.2 V or 7.4 V works perfectly without any risk

What Phase is going to tell you is why risk an $18,000 digital back over a $70 battery?

What I and others have told you is we are using the $20 7.4 volt batteries without issue -- and the exact same battery is now spec'd at 7.2 volts now anyway, and I measured their output with a voltmeter and they are within 0.04 volt (NOT 0.4 volt) of the Phase battery.  Doesn't mean we won't have future problems though, so your money and your choice

Best,

I dont want to save money , PhaseOne batteties are just not good enough for my needs, 10 photos with  one battery   for night photography  doesn't work for me

Best,
I think 0.2 tolerance should be well within the phase one back capabilities.
beside that, the cells inside the plastics may be all the same and 7.2 or 7.4 could well be a typo or something on that line.
