as many of you have already guessed after hasselblad's announcement, phase wil announce a
60 mpx (more or less) 645 sensor at or even before photokina. i guess we shall hear similar news from sinar soo, they all use the same senor provider.
this is all i know, no more details were revealed to me.

Arghh... the suspense till Photokina is killing me - I'm considering which dMF system to buy, and want to be able to make the newest backs part of my decision process. I want the most detail possible in a digital process, so these new big mega-backs are actually relevant to what I'm trying to accomplish...

Only Hasselblad and PhaseOne use the same manufacturer (Kodak). Sinar and Leaf use Dalsa sensors.

sorry about this error. actually, the 'kodak' connection was my speculation.
i have no info about the manufacturer of the 645 sensor.

We actually just got an announcement that us Phase One dealers will have a special Webinar tomorrow to go over some special announcements about the P65+ and the new T/S lenses!

As soon as we get more information we will post it here and on our website!

Is it just a coincidence that if you extrapolate the new 50mp Kodak chip to a full 645 size you get.....65mp!

Hi Lance. On the T/S lenses, are they related to Phase One, or something totally different? I don't recall seeing any rumors of T/S lenses in connection with Phase One, just the upcoming leaf lenses.

P.S. I noted with interest a few days ago that a Phase One rep on the Phase One forums said their back form factor was big enough to accomodate bigger sensors and bigger LCD screens. He was answering a question about what Phase One might announce at Photokina, and I got the impression he was hinting about what we could expect in the near future. Speculation on my part, of course.

All this got me thinking and I believe I have a new way to stay current and not have to worry about those time consuming hardware upgrades.

Stickers!

Not only is this upgrade package cost effective, but you can actually have the newest back, even before the press release.

It costs me $1.75 to make the stickers, but I will price them accordingly  (set of one) at  $75.99.

Value Added 24 hour replacement $175.99.

Each set  will come with a set of instructions of how to interpolate your current 90mb files to 300mb  (photoshop not included) and as a special bonus how to downsize your files back to 27.8 mb when your client requests a 300 ppi full page ad (including bleed).

I'll  soon have them out for other brands so if your a Leaf, Sinar ** or Hasselblad*** user you won't be left out.

JR

*prices subject to change

**hy6 stickers 32% higher

***Hasselblad stickers are not compatible with any other brand

I'm sorry Guy, but gold requires a software update and will not be available until 2nd quarter 2010.

I guess this is also a good time to announce our new preview system to replace those pesky lcd's.

It comes with a used SX 70 and 1 roll of special medium format double stick tape.
