It's impressive, indeed. There's also a video on Youtube (look for Jim Reed).

I must say that I never experienced serious camera failure under extreme/harsh conditions. Every problem happened in mild or unchallenging conditions.

What lens did he have on the D700? If the lens stayed dry, too, and the lens mount.
