Toronto / Yue Heng Duan / exhibit

Some of the darnedest work I've ever seen. If you happen to be in the downtown Toronto area between now and Thurs. July 7, you can see his work in the Metro Hall Rotunda (1st floor), 55 John Street. (Bring your own floodlamps, the lighting is terrible. ;)

Here are a few JPEGs to get an idea of content:

Some may be 8x10 view camera, but I know some are 4x5 Linhoff and Canon 5D. Almost all are 14x21" b&w, printed on an Epson 3800, and have enough detail to make you think 8x10 v/c at 2x or 3x enlargement. Just superb p/p and printing is all. What really blows me away is that I had no idea whatsoever that some of the work was Canon 5D until he pointed them out.

Lots of awards in China, but has recently relocated to Toronto.

I walked through there this am and was truly impressed.  I'll have to look at (what I think was) the artist's statement, which led me to believe they were all film.  Regardless, great images and processing - digital or film.

Nice stuff!
As your a fan of his, you might want to point out to him that he's making available a rather large file for anyone to download/print. The 1024 by whatever JPEg on his flicker could be printed/framed (with a fair amount of detail) by anyone.
I think it's his setting on flickr. I just recently started uploading pics there, and made sure that I didn't allow just anyone to d/l the larger files. I upload high res JEGS at highest setting.
